+20 new photos in the Gallery tonight! A few new HQ ones--I think they might be duplicates of smaller ones but I'll have to go back and check. Also, a lot of caps from the GWTW premier in Atlanta with Viv, Olivia DeHavilland and David Selznick, thanks to Corrin!

+20 new photos have been uploaded to the Gallery. Most of them are from the GWTW premier in Atlanta so I made a separate sub-album under the "Vivien" section called "Gone with the Wind Premiers". I uploaded some really nice Clark and Carole pics from that event (because everyone loves Clark and Carole, even if you didn't know you did, haha). I also put some new Larry and Viv pics up including one by request from Vicki and another that I have no idea why it wasn't uploaded before (or maybe it was and I didn't see it), but it's one of my absolute favorites because they're so modern/fashion model-looking. I call the the "Calvin Klein" pic. Maybe you can see why! I also think it would be fun to play the "favorites" game because I'm curious to know what everyone's favorite photos are. All you have to do is leave a comment on your favorite photo in the Gallery that says "favorite photo." It's easy, and it's fun!

+Quick Question:: Would anyone be interested in seeing photos of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard at the GWTW Atlanta premier? I've got some good ones in my stash that I'm thinking of putting in the Gallery in the GWTW section. Raise your hand if you want to see them (or email vivandlarry@gmail.com to let me know! )!!

+I've updated the Collecta-belle page and got rid of the thumbnails and put photos in lightbox form instead. I also added a few new items and took pictures of my prized posession: a scrapbook compiled in the 1940s by a lady named Joan Still in Essex England. She was a huge fan of the Oliviers and saw just about every performance they did. She also kept a ton of newspaper clippings and several autographs. I got this for a steal on ebay a few years ago. I know there was a book 2, but I couldn't afford it, which is sad because I have a feeling it was totally awesome. I wonder if anyone out there in internet land has this companion piece. Because if you do, you should email me and tell me all about it!
+I'm realy excited because I've sent in my form to enter part of my Vivien collection in the OC Fair this summer. It's for the display/collection competition! Last summer a bunch of Marilyn Monroe magazines won, but I remember seeing the winning entry and saying to my friend, "I think I can do better." So I'm going to give it a try! I can only enter 10 items (which is lame because you used to be able to enter as many as you wanted), so I have to choose wisely.
+I put a new entry in the BLOG yesterday, which is a response to an MSN article from a couple days ago in which some critic I'd never heard of (but who happens to look like he belongs in the circus 100 years ago) made a list of films he thought needed to be knocked out of their "Classic" status. The number 1 film, he said? Gone with the Wind. :/ So I commented on his article because he seemed to completely miss the point of WHY GWTW is a classic in the first place, and then I decided to write my thoughts on the subject on my LJ. So I posted the same response on the blog, and I would love to hear your opinions on the subject. Do you think GWTW has lost its luster? Do you think it still deserves its spot at the top of the film food chain?

+I uploaded 9 new photos to the Gallery for you viewing pleasure.

+Also, does anyone out there have a copy of THIS magazine in their posession? If so, would you be willing to scan the Oliviers article in it for this site? Email me at vivandlarry@gmail.com if you're willing and able. Appreciated! :D

+New May side bar is up with lots of new goodies including the new video of the month which is a fabulous Vivien tribute by Vicki and it has some footage I'd never seen before, so congrats Vicki! Also see new photo of the month, quote of the month and TV schedule. TCM is being skimpy on the Viv films lately, for real.
+Something new--The guidelines for the first ever Viv and Larry {dot} com CONTEST are up!!! The first give-away is a copy of Jesse Lasky's book "Love Scene," which is all about Larry and Viv! To enter, all you have to do is submit a little paragraph or two about why you like the Oliviers so much. See the sidebar for details and be sure to enter to win this awesome book!
+I've put together a new Mixology in the Media section for your listening pleasure! You can DL it as a zip file. It consists of songs that in some way remind me of Larry and Viv--lots of pretty instrumental pieces and a few old school tracks from Edith Piaf, Billie Holiday and Rufus Wainwright doing Judy Garland. Enjoy!
+10 new photos are up in the Gallery tonight--mostly large ones.
