James Abbe Jr., the son of famous photographer, James Abbe Sr. (who photographed Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Charlie Chaplin, and Rudolph Valentino among others), worked for Harper's Bazaar in the 1940's. He took the stunning color shot of Vivien as Scarlett O'Hara that appeared on the cover of Ladies' Home Journal in 1940. Unfortunately, more information is avalable ton the older James Abbe than the one who took this magnificent portrait. If you're ever browsing a vintage issue of Bazaar, though, keep an eye out for James Jr.'s name below photographs.
